ACM SIGMOD/PODS Conference: Vancouver, 2008
Delegates: Airport Information

The Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is located about 30 minutes driving in non-rush hours from the downtown conference site. YVR is consistently rated one of the best airports in North America. There is a large number of flights in and out of YVR every day, from all over the world, including non-stops to major cities in the United States.

There are several options to choose from when travelling between YVR and downtown Vancouver, including scheduled airport buses, taxis, limousines, car rentals, and even public transit. For example, the Airporter Bus (recommended) offers frequent service (i.e., every 30 minutes) between the airport and major downtown hotels, including the Westin Bayshore, for about $13.50 one-way or $21 return (for adults). For more information on the transportation options, visit the Tourism Vancouver Tourist Info Centre located at the International and Domestic Terminals at Vancouver International Airport, or check out the airport transportation section of Tourism Vancouver's Web site.

Click here for driving directions to the hotel from the airport (and from other parts of Greater Vancouver).

If you wish to take public transit from the airport to your hotel, follow instuctions similar to those found on SIGMOD's in-town transportation Web page (to get detailed information on how to get from the airport to your hotel). The estimated transit fare from the airport to downtown Vancouver is $3.75 one-way.
